Our featured speakers focus on the inspirational as well as the nuts-and-bolts in a way that both novice and seasoned writers can benefit. These key-note talks usually include some time for Q&A.

Manuscript critiques are available to all registrants for an additional fee. The three, one-on-one manuscripts are a bonus for writers who want some feedback on their work in progress. The longer, one-hour critique is geared toward the writer who has a manuscript in the works, whether that is a novel, memoir or a poetry collection. Critiques add to the ways in which attendees benefit from the intimate size of the conference.

The pre-conference writing workshop, led by Deborah Turrell Atkinson and Naomi Hirahara, is a bonus serious novel writers should consider adding to their time in Jackson. For writers who may only have time for one day to devote to their writing craft, this workshop fits the bill.
