Some writers are consumed by the chicken or egg question: “While writing, should I consider the audience, the market — and marketability — of my work?” More than one answer may apply. In this participatory conversation, non-fiction best-selling author Broughton Coburn will draw from examples and personal experience to explore how he pre-configures some of the writing projects he works on (with marketability in mind), and how on others he doesn’t. He’ll also share what happens, or doesn’t, when projects are taken to the publishing market and the broader world. Please send questions in advance, although during the conversation additional questions will be solicited from the participants!
