No More Magical Thinking: Finish Your Novel

“The novel is a pack of lies hounding the truth.”  Carlos Fuentes

Cut loose and lay the groundwork for the rest of your novel in the structure and safety of this one-day workshop. Deborah Turrell Atkinson and Lise McClendon, long-time JHWC faculty, will lead this concentrated day of writing and analysis.

“We will discuss character development, a general road map for novel structure, and the much-needed conflict, within both the character and the story,” Debby and Lise say.  “To do this, we’ll have short periods of instruction, followed by writing exercises.  After writing, you will be given a chance to read your developments to the class and absorb the gentle critiques and encouragements. ”

The workshop is Wednesday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Limited to 15 participants. Box lunch included.

If you have any specific questions, please Contact us and we will forward your query to Deborah and Lise.

This workshop fills early and is a great option for the person who can only spend one day at the conference and wants to concentrate on fiction and novel writing.

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
Mark Twain
